Dog exercise and dog prohibited areas for the town area of Raglan

Dog exercise and dog prohibited areas for the town area of Raglan

Raglan has large designated areas of reserves and beaches available for exercising dogs.   Some of these areas are for free run exercise.  In other designated areas dogs are permitted on a leash. Please ensure that all faeces are removed.

There is a fenced area for the exercise of dogs on the corner of Wallis and John Streets with ample parking for cars.  It is about 500 metres away from the main shopping and cafe area.

Dogs are prohibited in the main shopping and cafe area in and around Bow St.  (Signs advise visitors that having a dog in this area would result in a fine of $300.)   They are also prohibited in Te Kopua reserve.  In all other streets dogs are permitted on a leash.

For dog owners wanting to buy food or have a drink, the Marlin Cafe in Wallis St and the Raglan West Store in Wainui Road are both outside the dog prohibited area.
